Thermoelectrics

The thermoelectric module can be said to be an electronic small heat pump with no dynamic parts. Unlike the refrigerant circulation cooling method, the thermoelectric module does not require a mechanical operation part. After configuring the module using two different types of thermoelectric semiconductor elements, when a current flows through it, the Peltier effect occurs at both ends of the thermoelectric element. It is an electronic cooling method that can control the temperature by endothermic or exothermic phenomena.

This method is used in parts where space is limited or reliability is required, and also in various accessories where Freon refrigerant (cfc) cannot be used. The thermoelectric module is operated by direct current and can be used as a cooler or as a heater by reversing the current direction.

Peltier effect is a direct current is applied to both ends of the bi-material end is a phenomenon in which the heat generating and heat absorbing the other end, was discovered in 1834 by Jean Peltier, and the basic concept that enables the cooling by the thermoelectric module

The structure of the thermoelectric module is as follows.

Thermoelectric modules are being applied in various industries due to their characteristics and various advantages.

  • Environmentally friendly as no refrigerant is used

  • Accurate temperature control

  • Durable

  • Endothermic heat can be changed depending on the direction of the current

  • No mechanical operation, thus is noiseless and vibration-free.

  • Small value and light weight possible

  • Spot cooling function / Omnidirectional operation possible
